Biochrom is one of the world's leading manufacturers of Amino Acid Analyzers and UV/Visible Spectrophotometers.
The company was founded in 1970 to sell and eventually manufacture amino acid analyzers at St. Albans in the UK. LKB acquired the company in 1972 and in 1974 moved to become the second company to take up residence on the now world-renowned Cambridge Science Park.
In 1982 the now famous Ultrospec range of spectrophotometers were introduced and sold exclusively by Amersham Biosciences, now GE Healthcare.
In 1999 the company was acquired by Harvard Apparatus and the name changed to Biochrom Ltd.
